5th hour 2-1

Hi Mrs. Gray. haha you said i couldnt say hi

To day we learned about adding matrices
[2 3 4]+[5 6 7]=[7 9 11]
you add the numbers in the same place so first it would be 2+5
then 3+6
and 4+7

and ta-da your done!!

What about the rules for adding rational numbers?

I thought she really nailed it LOL just kidding

Woo hoo!:)Way to go Chloe!I agree with you on the matrices.

A positive plus a positive is always a positive number.

When adding a negative and a positive number find the difference of the two numbers, and keep the sign of the greater number.

Ok people listen up. when adding rational numbers you take the sign of the bigger. So here's your little example. -7+5= -2. Do you see what I did? Since with out the - sign 7 is bigger so you take five from seven and add the - sign.

Yeah. What Carly said. :) And I was the first one to say it. :D

Yeah! I totally agree what Carly and Sadie said. But really I said it first not sadie!! lol ::))

I agree with you Chloe on the matrices.

A positive + positive = positive
A negative + negative = negative
A positive + negative = find the difference and give the greater number the sign.

Chloe the addition rules
1.13 + 12 = a positive
2.-14 + -7 = a negative
3.8 + -4 = a positive
4. -6 + 4 = a negative

Don't forget next time =)))

Chloe you failed to explain the way to add rational numbers. I do agree with your adding matrices rule though.

If you have a negative rational number and you add it to a positive number than you have to find out which is greater and find the difference. You label the number with the larger numbers sign.

-17+21= 4
or if you have a larger negative number

-22+9=-13

Good job! I agree with you.

a positive + positive = positive

a positive + negative = find the greater difference and give the greater number the sign

a negative + negative = negative

The rules for adding rational numbers
negative + negative equals a negative
positive + positive equals positive
negative + positive subtract them and
use the sigh of the greater absolute value
You did great

Sadie and Lacie use that brain. I think you have one. loljk. But seriously you guys are monsters. Always take the sign of the bigger number

I AGREE WIT CHLOE ON THE ADDING MATRICES

when adding matrices you may have to add a negative and positive number so if you had -4+9 it would equal 5 but if you add -9+4 then it would equal -5

The rules for adding rational numbers is if the signs are the same you wold add & keep the sign sign, but when adding a positive and a negative you would subtract and take the sign of the greater absolute value.

it was ok

Good job adding matrices! Just wondering but how do u add rational numbers again?? LOL just kidding
